Whatever the Vellgus red light reviews say, two things decide your panel: where you'll use it and whether you might send it back.
For a door, start with the pro: 20 inches long, door hook in the box, $849 as of September 26, 2026. On October 5, it and the mini were the only listings neither on sale nor sold with a stand, and Vellgus makes both of those final. Confirm its weight before it hangs: 4 kg on its product page, 6.6 kg on the homepage.
The two independent page-one reviews from our September 26 search both call Vellgus FDA-cleared, and one describes a 30 to 60 day return window without mentioning a restocking fee. Vellgus's policy charges 20% plus return shipping, and FDA's databases showed nothing under Vellgus's name.
On September 26, 2026, we read every Vellgus product page, its homepage table, FAQ, shipping and return policies and two blog posts, then searched FDA's databases.

Vellgus pro
The pro is 20 inches long with 120 LEDs, and the door hook comes in the box. Vellgus lists 4 kg on its product page and 6.6 kg on its homepage. On October 5, 2026, the door-hook version was one of the two listings you could return by choice.
As of September 26, 2026, the door-hook version was $849.
See the pro at VellgusVellgus max 300
The max 300 is the longest panel in the lineup, at 36.2 inches with 300 LEDs. Its product page and homepage both list 13.5 kg, and the door hook comes in the box. On September 26, 2026, every version was final sale.
As of September 26, 2026, the door-hook version was $1,149 on sale (regular $1,299).
See the max 300 at VellgusVellgus elite v2
The elite v2 is the only panel in the lineup with a built-in table stand, and a door hook comes in its box too. It measures 10.2 by 7.9 inches with 60 LEDs. Vellgus lists 2.6 kg on its product page and 3.1 kg on its homepage.
As of September 26, 2026, it was $549 on sale (regular $649), so it was final sale.
See the elite v2 at VellgusVellgus mini
The mini runs on battery with USB-C charging and comes with a cloth bag, so it goes where a cord won't reach. It measures 5.9 by 3.7 inches with 15 LEDs, and its warranty is 1 year.
As of October 5, 2026, it was $339. On September 26, 2026, it could be ordered only as a pre-order.
See the mini at VellgusBelow, the four panels come first, then the outlet and the FDA question, with the return terms and the questions to send Vellgus after them.
Pick by the spot where you'll use it, once you know whether you might send it back: the four panels run from 5.9 to 36.2 inches long.
Picture a March morning a week after the box arrived, still dark outside the spare room window. The pro hangs from the closet door you measured, on the hook Vellgus rated for you in writing, and its 1.5 m cable drops to the outlet you checked. The remote sits on the shelf beside the goggles. You take the remote from the shelf and turn the pro on.
Four Vellgus panels could be ordered on September 26, 2026, the mini as a pre-order. Vellgus's shop page marked the original elite and the pro V2 sold out. The table's prices are from that day; the decision box above gives the October 5 range, so check today's price before you order.
Checkpoint: will you keep it? Vellgus makes sale items and stands final, which on October 5, 2026, covered every listing but two. If a return might matter, your list is the door-hook pro and the mini, and if you know you'll keep it, the max 300, the elite v2 and the stand versions are open too. Settle this first, then match the length to your door, wall or desk.
Find the size column for your door, wall or desk, then check the weight column, where the product page and the homepage disagree on two of the four panels.
| Model | Price on Sept. 26, 2026 | Size (product page) | LEDs | Weight: product page / homepage | Warranty |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vellgus mini | $339 | 5.9 x 3.7 x 1.2 in | 15 | 0.55 kg / 0.55 kg | 1 year |
| Vellgus elite v2 | $549 sale (regular $649) | 10.2 x 7.9 x 2.5 in | 60 | 2.6 kg / 3.1 kg | 3 years |
| Vellgus pro | $849 door hook, $949 floor stand, $1,119 flex mobile stand | 20 x 8.2 x 2.5 in | 120 | 4 kg / 6.6 kg | 3 years |
| Vellgus max 300 | $1,149 door hook sale (regular $1,299), $1,349 floor stand, $1,499 flex mobile stand | 36.2 x 11.8 x 2.5 in | 300 | 13.5 kg / 13.5 kg | 3 years |
In pounds, the pro is 8.8 lb on its product page and 14.6 lb on the homepage. The max 300 is 29.8 lb. None of Vellgus's pages says whether a weight includes packaging. That's the load a door hook carries, and Vellgus publishes no load rating for its hook, so plan a door around the heavier figure.
Vellgus labels the pro a "Full Body" panel and the elite v2 a "Half body" panel. Those are Vellgus's own size categories. The pro is 20 inches long, and the max 300 is 36.2 inches. If you're choosing a door or a stretch of wall, plan around the dimensions rather than the label. Our guide to full body red light panels compares panels and kits from nine makers by height, from the 20 inch pro to 72 inch kits.

The pro is 20 inches long with 120 LEDs. Its door hook, wire rope and lift rope come in the box, so it can hang from a door, though Vellgus publishes no load rating for that hook. Goggles and a remote ship with it, and the warranty runs 3 years. As of September 26, 2026, the door-hook version was $849, and on October 5 it was one of the two listings you could return by choice.
Confirm before you order: ask Vellgus in writing which weight is right and what load the hook is rated for, and plan the door around 6.6 kg until it answers. If it won't answer, the floor stand version keeps the weight off the door, $949 as of September 26, 2026, though its stand makes it final sale. With the weight and the hook's load rating in writing, the door-hook pro is ready to order.
At 36.2 inches long with 300 LEDs, the max 300 is the longest panel in the lineup, and both of Vellgus's pages list the same 13.5 kg. One panel covers a long stretch of door or wall, with the door hook in the box.
The homepage also prints a second size for it: 26.2 x 8.27 x 2.5 in, beside the same 92 x 30 cm. Since 92 cm is 36.2 inches and 30 cm is 11.8 inches, the homepage's inch figures are about 10 inches short on length. Plan the wall around the product page's 36.2 inches.
At that weight, on a hook with no published load rating, get the floor stand version if Vellgus won't rate the hook: $1,349 as of September 26, 2026. With the hook question and the label's input rating answered in writing, the max 300 is ready to order.
The elite v2 is the only one of the four orderable panels with a built-in table stand, so it sits on a desk with nothing to hang. A door hook comes in its box too. Vellgus calls it a "Half body" panel, at 10.2 by 7.9 inches with 60 LEDs. The original elite was sold out on September 26, so at this size, the v2 is the one to order.
A May 2025 Vellgus blog post adds a third version, with 300 LEDs on a 12 x 8.5 in surface, against 60 on the product page and homepage. Plan the desk around the heavier 3.1 kg and the blog's larger surface, and ask Vellgus which specs ship. The question is in the list near the end.
The mini runs on battery with USB-C charging and comes with a cloth bag, so it goes where a cord won't reach. As of October 5, 2026, it was $339. On September 26, it could be ordered only as a pre-order. On October 5, it was the other listing you could return by choice.
Vellgus doesn't publish the number your outlet needs, the measured draw at the wall, for any model.
Its homepage gives a "Power" figure for each model, and each one is the LED count times 5 watts. That's 75 W for the mini, 300 W for the elite and elite v2, 600 W for the pro and 1,500 W for the max 300.
Vellgus's How It Works page explains where the 5 comes from: "Our devices have 5W LED chips." That is a chip rating. The max 300 product page gives no watt figure at all.
The difference matters when you pick an outlet. Taken at face value, 1,500 watts at 120 volts is 12.5 amps, most of what an ordinary 15 amp circuit can carry.
At the same face value, the pro's 600 W would be 5 amps at 120 volts, by our arithmetic. That is still an LED rating, not a measured draw, and the circuit may already carry other loads.
Confirm before you order: ask Vellgus for the input rating printed on the panel's own label, in watts or amps at 120 volts, before you decide where any Vellgus panel plugs in. Until it answers, plan a max 300's circuit around the full 1,500 W. Our guide to home sauna electrical requirements explains how to read a wattage against a breaker.

Vellgus's pages claim both, and neither claim could be confirmed in FDA's databases under the Vellgus name.
Every Vellgus product page says "FDA Registered Class II Medical Device" and describes the panels as "FDA listed Class II devices." The certification strip on the same pages shows an "FDA CLEARED" mark alongside Health Canada, UKCA, FCC, CE and RoHS logos, with no registration or certificate number beside any of them. A May 2025 post on Vellgus's blog calls the elite v2 "FDA-cleared for home use."
Registered and cleared are not interchangeable. Registration and listing tell FDA where device establishments are and which devices are made there. Clearance means FDA reviewed a 510(k) premarket submission for a specific device and issued an order that "clears" it.
Mito Red Light, for example, lists its panels under FDA's infrared lamp category (21 CFR 890.5500). That regulation exempts the device type from 510(k) review, subject to limits, so a panel can be properly listed and never cleared. FDA's rule on the difference is direct: registration "does not in any way denote approval" (21 CFR 807.39).
We searched FDA's public databases on September 26, 2026:
An empty search doesn't prove Vellgus is unregistered. A registration and listing can sit under a manufacturer's or importer's name and model codes, and vellgus.com names neither its factory nor a legal company name we could search. So you can't confirm either claim by brand name, and nothing we found supports "cleared." Ask Vellgus for its FDA establishment registration number, and for the 510(k) number if it says cleared.
What this means for you: if FDA clearance is part of why you're buying, hold the order until Vellgus sends a 510(k) number. If you're choosing by size and price, treat the badge as one more place Vellgus's pages disagree, and get the registration number in writing before you rely on either claim.
If a listing you can look up by brand name matters most, Mito is the maker to compare: its MitoPRO listing turned up in that same search. See our Vellgus vs Mito Red Light comparison.
Vellgus also states "All Products ETL Intertek Approved." It publishes no ETL control number, and the ETL mark is not among the logos on its certification strip, so we could not look the listing up. Ask for the control number before you count on that line.

A return costs 20% of the price plus return shipping, and sale items and stands can't come back by choice at all.
Vellgus's Warranty/Return Policy page sets these terms:
As of September 26, 2026, a pro with the door hook at $849 carried a 20% fee of $169.80, plus return shipping. The elite v2 and the door-hook max 300 were sale-priced that day, so neither could be returned by choice.
The pro and max 300 floor-stand and mobile-stand versions include a stand, and stands are final. The policy doesn't say how Vellgus treats the panel half of a bundled price, so ask before ordering.
Vellgus's homepage puts it more simply: "30 Day Free Trial Period" and "Try it for 30 days. If you don't love it, we'll send you a refund." The return answer in its FAQ doesn't mention the fee either. The policy page is the document that governs.
Vellgus set up a code for our readers: HOMEPERFORMANCE takes 10% off, with no end date and no minimum order (Vellgus, by email, October 13, 2026). Vellgus also told us in writing that a regular-priced order with the code can still go back under its normal return policy. Sale items and stands stay final sale.
What this means for you: settle the spot and the outlet before you pay, because a return is the expensive way to find out a panel doesn't fit. If you're sure, a sale-priced panel costs less, but it can't be returned by choice, so the saving holds only if the panel fits.
The warranty runs up to 3 years on the elite, elite v2, pro and max 300, and 1 year on the mini. Vellgus says it will "fix or replace" a light that isn't working properly, and a resolution can be a replacement part, phone or email troubleshooting, or "a new or refurbished unit." Damage the owner causes isn't covered, including drops and opening the light without authorization.
The warranty belongs to the original purchaser only, from vellgus.com or an authorized reseller, and warranty shipping is limited to Canada and the US. The policy dates the 3 years two ways: from the "order delivery date" in one paragraph and from "the date of purchase" in another. Plan on the purchase date, the earlier of the two, until Vellgus says which applies.

Every box but the mini's holds a door hook, wire rope and lift rope, and the elite v2 adds a built-in table stand.
Find your panel, then read across: a stand option is a separate version at a higher price, and stands are final sale.
| Model | Mounting in the box | Stand options |
|---|---|---|
| mini | None. Battery and USB-C charging, cloth bag | None listed |
| elite v2 | Built-in table stand, door hook, wire rope, lift rope | None beyond the built-in stand |
| pro | Door hook, wire rope, lift rope | Floor stand version $949, flex mobile stand version $1,119 |
| max 300 | Door hook, wire rope, lift rope | Floor stand version $1,349, flex mobile stand version $1,499 |
Each panel also ships with a plug on a 1.5 m (about 4.9 ft) cable, goggles and a remote, except the mini, which has none of those.
Vellgus publishes no load rating for its door hook and no door thickness or height limits. It lists no wall-mount hardware in any box, although a May 2025 Vellgus blog post says the elite v2 "can be wall-mounted if preferred."
We found no operating temperature range or required gap behind the cooling fans, and no Vellgus user manual is posted on vellgus.com. Our guide to what it takes to hang a red light panel covers what to check when a maker leaves those numbers out.
Weight decides the mount. Get the hook's rating in writing before a pro or a max 300 goes on a door, or order its floor stand version.
For room depth, Vellgus publishes three different distances. Its FAQ says about 3 inches (7.5 cm) in one answer and 6 to 12 inches in another, with further bands out to 24 inches. Its treatment guidelines page says 10 cm, about 4 inches.
Read them as the space Vellgus tells you to leave between you and the panel. For floor planning, work from the far end of that range, plus the panel's own 2.5 inch depth, then add room for you.
Yes. Vellgus's terms are governed by Ontario law, and shipping is free to both the US and Canada. Vellgus says duties and taxes are prepaid for orders in both countries.
Orders ship from warehouses in Ottawa, Jacksonville or overseas, depending on the item and stock. Vellgus says it ships within 1 to 5 business days, and that items sent air express from its overseas warehouse typically take 8 to 10 business days in transit. It won't ship to P.O. boxes or forwarding addresses, and an order placed to one is canceled and refunded minus Stripe processing fees.
So check out with a street address. If Vellgus says your panel ships from overseas, allow 1 to 5 business days to ship plus the 8 to 10 business days in transit that Vellgus calls typical.
The elite v2 lists six wavelengths: 480, 630, 660, 810, 830 and 850 nm. The original elite lists five, without 480. Its other published specs match the elite: 60 LEDs, the same size, the same 2.6 kg.
Choose by size first, since the wavelength lists don't change which panel fits your room.
The pro V2 was sold out on September 26, and its own page gives three different wavelength lists. One tab lists all six. The core features say 630, 660, 810, 830 and 850 nm. The tech specs say 480, 660, 810, 830 and 850 nm.
Separately, Vellgus's FAQ says "All our devices come with the standard layout of red 660nm light and near infrared 850nm light," while the panel pages list five or six wavelengths. If the pro V2 is back in stock when you order, ask Vellgus which list is right.
Vellgus's product pages say "EMF Emission is 0.00 at 4 inches" with no unit. The homepage table gives "0.0 µT" at 4 inches.
The homepage marks every model "Flicker Free" and also lists a "10Hz Flicker Function" on every model except the mini. Vellgus publishes no measured flicker figure. A Vellgus comparison graphic claims "3rd Party Tested," and a search of vellgus.com for "test report" turned up blog posts but no test report. If either figure weighs in your choice, ask Vellgus for that report before you order.
Twelve figures differ between Vellgus's own pages, from the FDA badge to the date the warranty starts, and each one is a question you can settle in writing before you pay.
Where Vellgus publishes two conflicting figures, both are shown below, so read each row across and plan around the stricter one until Vellgus answers in writing.
| What | One Vellgus page says | Another Vellgus page says |
|---|---|---|
| FDA status | "FDA Registered" and "FDA listed Class II" (product pages) | "FDA CLEARED" badge on the same pages; "FDA-cleared for home use" (blog, May 2025) |
| Pro weight | 4 kg (product page) | 6.6 kg (homepage) |
| Elite and elite v2 weight | 2.6 kg (product pages) | 3.1 kg (homepage); 5.5 lb (blog) |
| Elite v2 LEDs | 60 (product page and homepage) | 300 LEDs on a 12 x 8.5 in surface (blog, May 2025) |
| Max 300 size | 36.2 x 11.8 x 2.5 in (product page) | 26.2 x 8.27 x 2.5 in, printed beside the same 92 x 30 cm (homepage) |
| Max 300 power | 1,500 W (homepage) | No watt figure (product page) |
| Irradiance | More than 245 mW/cm², no distance (product pages) | More than 245 "at 0 in" (homepage); up to 150 at 6 inches (blog, June 2025) |
| Returns | "30 Day Free Trial Period" (homepage) | 20% restocking fee, buyer pays return shipping, sale items and stands final (policy) |
| Distance | About 3 inches (FAQ) | 10 cm (guidelines); 6 to 12 inches (FAQ) |
| Elite cooling fans | 1 (elite and elite v2 product pages) | 2 (homepage) |
| Wavelengths | 660 and 850 nm on "all our devices" (FAQ) | Five or six wavelengths per panel (product pages) |
| Warranty start | "order delivery date" | "the date of purchase" (same policy) |
The distance row has one more wrinkle: the treatment guidelines page tells you to use "your Hive" at 3 inches. Hive is not a Vellgus product name.
The irradiance row has a distance gap of its own: the product pages give no distance at all, the homepage says "at 0 in," and the June 2025 blog post says up to 150 mW/cm² at 6 inches.
Send Vellgus these questions before you order, and keep the answers in writing:
With the answers in writing, order the panel your spot calls for from the picks above. For a door, that's the pro on its hook. If Vellgus won't answer a question that decides your order, plan around the stricter figure, or hold the order until it does.
Is Vellgus FDA cleared?
Vellgus's product text says its panels are FDA registered and listed as Class II devices, while a certification badge on the same pages says FDA CLEARED. FDA's registration and 510(k) databases returned no results under the Vellgus name on September 26, 2026, though a listing can sit under a manufacturer's or importer's name. Ask Vellgus for its registration number, and any 510(k) number, before relying on either claim.
What is Vellgus's return policy?
You have 30 days from purchase, and you must contact Vellgus before sending anything back. The buyer pays return shipping plus a 20% restocking fee, and items bought on sale are final sale, as are stands.
How much does the Vellgus pro weigh?
The pro's product page says 4 kg (8.8 lb). Vellgus's homepage says 6.6 kg (14.6 lb), and neither page says whether packaging is included.
How many watts does a Vellgus panel use?
Vellgus publishes LED ratings rather than wall draw: 75 W for the mini up to 1,500 W for the max 300, each calculated as LED count times 5 W. Ask Vellgus for the input rating on the panel's label before choosing an outlet.
Does Vellgus ship to Canada?
Yes. Shipping is free to the US and Canada, and Vellgus says duties and taxes are prepaid for both countries. Orders leave an Ottawa, Jacksonville or overseas warehouse within 1 to 5 business days.
Tonight, hold a tape along the door or wall you'd use: 20 inches for the pro, 36.2 for the max 300. Check that an outlet sits within the 1.5 m cable. Then put both numbers in the free Home Performance Room Planner; its room and electrical measurements apply to a panel as well as to the sauna and cold plunge rooms it was written for.
